Club history

The Society was formed about 1924, with its headquarters at the Conservative Club, Broadway, Bexleyheath. The first President was Edward Heath MP. Its current headquarters are at The Royal Oak, Mount Road, Bexleyheath.

The Society has fished most venues in the South East from the Thames Estuary round to Littlehampton. The present policy is to have two or three outings each year at a few venues, reflecting our knowledge of local charter skippers and fish stocks.

A closed festival is held each year in the Spring and Autumn for various cups and trophies and other cups are awarded for particular species caught during the year.

Members also arrange independently private outings; for example a group fishes regularly at Dungeness and a party goes each year in July to Westport, Ireland for a week.
